Colour Coding Rooms in the Home

A widely used way to decorate your home, colour coding is used not just for decoration but also used in different areas of modern life.

Colour coding is a visual way to organise different categories of a thing. When used as a technical method is serves a logical purpose. But this same method of colour coding can also be used in the home as a way to organise rooms into different ‘living categories’.

For example, bedrooms could be organised into light colours with perhaps a feature colour to separate rooms. Where as living spaces downstairs may be coloured in more vibrant tones. This creates a decorative shift in your home and allowing you to mentally differentiate between the different types of rooms, using your own colour coding technique.

It helps to use traditional colours when doing this. Earth and utility colours for the kitchen and warm soft colours for bedrooms make sense and are commonly used.
