Minimalist Approach To Interior Design

Over the years you have probably collected a great amount of furnishings. Some bought, some donated, some used and some thrown out. For the most part it is probably taking up more space than its worth so why not take an alternative approach.

The minimalist approach works on the basis that less is more. Less clutter, more space. It is great if you do not have too much space in the home or just need a change. You can start by clearing out objects and furnishings that are there but don’t serve too much of a purpose, for example that sofa in your living room that no one ever sits on. Get rid of it and have more space to think. Or integrate some shelving into a chair and kill two birds with one stone.

If you have contrasting colours in your home in different rooms, you may want to think about putting neutral colours through-out the home and having focus or accent colours in the rooms. It gives a bright, clean and fresh re-design of the home.
