Peter If you are trying to decorate or do some redecorating but are a bit strapped for cash, there are a few things you can do to spruce up your decor without breaking the bank.

• Add in a plant and/or a candle corner. The plants do not have to be real, just add some colour. You can also simply collect all your candles from around the room and put them together in a corner to create a new ‘feel’.
• Try a bit of upcycling or a new paint job. You may have an older piece of furniture you are considering replacing. Take a second look, and consider upcycling with a fresh new color instead of replacing. You can find loads of diy upcycle ideas online.
• Throw in a sheepskin. Real or faux, a sheepskin rug can really add some character to any space. You can find great bargains and try draping one across a seat, bed or just place it strategically on the floor.
• Change cupboard and drawer handles. Simply swapping to different handles in in your kitchen could create a whole different feel.
• Add a shelf or a pretty storage box. A well-placed shelf with a few of your favourite books or trinkets is a practical way to add a bit of character and adding in a cute trunk or storage box, not only gives you more storage but looks fab as well.
